MCE Engages Tipper Truck Operators to Support Sefwi Dwenase Bypass

The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, met members of the Tipper Truck Operators Association on Monday, 10 August 2026.

The meeting discussed how the Association could support the Municipal Assembly by providing tipper trucks to transport boulders from Asante Gold Mines for the ongoing construction of the Sefwi Dwenase bypass road.

The proposed support would help move the materials required for the road construction. When completed, the bypass is expected to improve road connectivity and reduce traffic congestion within the Sefwi Dwenase area.

Hon. Dominic Gyasi commended the operators for their willingness to support development projects within the Municipality. He emphasised the importance of cooperation between the Municipal Assembly, transport operators and other stakeholders in delivering projects successfully.

The MCE also engaged the Association on matters relating to tipper trucks involved in sand-winning activities within the Municipality.

Operators were reminded to comply with the relevant rules governing their activities and ensure that the required levies are paid to the Municipal Assembly.

The meeting allowed the Assembly and the Association to discuss operational challenges and consider practical ways of strengthening their working relationship for the benefit of the Municipality.
