MCE Joins Education Minister and GES Director-General to Inspect BECE Centres

The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, joined the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, to inspect selected BECE centres on 4 May 2026.

The inspection covered centres within the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality and other parts of the Western North Region. It allowed the delegation to observe the conditions under which candidates were writing their examinations and assess the suitability of the facilities being used.

During the visits, the delegation encouraged candidates to remain confident, maintain discipline and give their best throughout the examination.

The candidates were reminded that the BECE was an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they had acquired during their basic education.

The visit also highlighted the need to improve educational infrastructure within the Municipality.

The Education Minister indicated the government’s commitment to supporting a TVET institution at Sefwi Boako and refurbishing an examination facility considered unsuitable for its current purpose.

Hon. Dominic Gyasi welcomed the proposed interventions and reaffirmed the Municipal Assembly’s commitment to supporting improvements in educational infrastructure and creating better conditions for teaching, learning and examinations.
