· by Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly
Hon Kofi Benteh Afful, a board member of the cocoa Marketing Company and also the member of Parliament for sefwi wiawso constituency, is personally supporting rice farmer's in sefwi wiawso with fertilisers to boost rice production.
These fertilisers will be distributed to selected rice farming communities in the constituency .
These fertilisers are going to support rice farmers to increase the nutrient content of the soil and increase rice production to ensure food security .
This initiative will not only benefit the farmers but also contribute to the overall development of sefwi wiawso as it will motivate more of our youths to go into rice farming , thereby reducing the unemployment rate among our youth.
Hon Kofi Benteh Afful who is also into rice farming challenged the farmers not to see farming as an adventure for the uneducated but rather a very lucrative avenue that, when taken seriously, can make them become millionaires in their various communities.
As we eat what we grow and grow what we eat , monies used in importing foreign rice could be used to motivate our farmers through fertiliser support, weedicides support, pesticide support, etc.
